Spring/Summer Classes

Class Registration Procedure:
It is necessary to pre-register for all classes. Payment must be made at sign-up to hold your space. Supply lists for classes will be available at least one week before the class. Any supplies purchased from Jamie’s Country Stitches expressly for class use will be discounted 15% (excludes books, kits and patterns).

Beginning Quilting

We welcome new quilters to our “Beginning Quilting” class. Over the 12 hour (3- 4 hr. classes) course you will learn fundamental quilting skills (rotary cutting, measuring, piecing, creating the "quilt sandwich", binding and many, many more) that will benefit your future in quilting. Block of the Month (BOM) Tried and True

Finished size 66” X 79”

$24.95 per month for 10 months During the 10-month program, you will receive the pattern, Tried and True by nancy Halvosen, the fabric needed to make the quilt top including the borders, and binding.

Space and kits are limited. To reserve your kit and class spot, please sign up as soon as possible. $50 starter fee plus first month $24.95 due at sign up.

Monthly classes are optional, beginning Saturday, June 5th. $30 per class.

Cornerstone Table Runner

Table runner (15”x 40”) and 4 placemats. Stop by the shop to see the beautiful sample. Instructor: Jamie. $40.

Crazy Patch Bag

Description and photo to come. Instructor: Marlin. $40.

Crazy Quilt Block of the Month (BOM)

This is an old favorite that has come back again. Use up scarps of all kinds of things. Express yourself with fancy stitches and embroidery by machine or hand. Instructor: Marlin $40

Delectable Mountains

"Stars...a migration theme with reference to divine guidance. Those traveling into the unknown were placing their fate in God's hands." Mary Bywater Cross This pattern can be traced back to the early American pioneer days. Learn rows of mountains and variable stars in this class. Instructor: Marlin. $45.

Embroidery Club

Once a month. Each project will add to your embroidery skills and add to your embroidery project repertoire. Instructor: Marlin. $35

T-Shirt Quilt

Here is a great way to save those special T-shirts you just can’t get rid of! You will learn how to make the T-shirt into a block, miter corners, and how to figure out placement of your blocks to make this unique keepsake quilt. Instructor: Marlin. $45.

Fold-N-Go Tote

What a chic way to do you shopping with this very handy tote. Don’t let the folded up size fool you, once opened it is very roomy. 2 classes. Instructor: Marjorie $40

Friday Nights Get Together and/or UFO

UFO, beginners welcome! Come share an evening of sewing, quilting, tips, tricks, and friendship. Flexible hours Friday between 7 pm – 11pm or Thursday between 10am and 3pm $5

Holiday Napkins with Machine Appliqué

Instructor: Marlin. $35.

Pick A Project

Having trouble with your project? We are offering a great opportunity for you to work on your project with a teacher there to help you. Monthly, last Wednesday of the month. $30

Pickled Pear Table Topper

This little table topper or wall hanging is made with classic blocks and some machine appliqué. Great for any level quilter: machine appliquéd pears are surrounded by saw tooth squares. Instructor: Marlin $40.

Retro Cottage Romance

This is a great way to use your Theme prints and solids creating a simply stunning piece. Works well as a wall hanging or a table topper for that luncheon you are thinking about having. Instructor: Marlin. $45.

Techniques Classes

Are you struggling with a particular technique each time you encounter it? Do you feel you could use a little more practice and instruction? We are now offering this series of technique classes to help you overcome these problem areas. Binding, Rotary cutting, Color Theory, Piping, Free Motion Quilting, Machine Appliqué, Zippers.

Technique/ Binding Workshop

You don’t have to be afraid of finishing your quilts. No more waiting for someone else to bind for you. Bring your own project that is ready for binding. Let’s finish it together. Instructor: Marlin $30

Technique/ Color Theory

Making a quilt is fun but the color selection is sometimes a stumbling block. How much color, what color goes with what? Lights, mediums and darks Oh My! We will learn how to choose and apply color harmony. And that red film you look through will prove to be your friend. Instructor: Marlin $30

Technique/ Free Motion Quilting

Fear no more! This can be a fun and relaxing thing to do. Applying a bit of quilting to a project can take it from nice to WOW in a few minutes. Practice and a few tips is what you need. Instructor: Marjorie $30

Technique/ Machine Appliqué

This is a great workshop on fusible appliqué also called Raw Edge because the appliqué pieces are fused to your background. We will be working with a simple Still Life form for the workshop. Please bring your own ideas to add to this cheery little piece. Decorative threads are used for the stitching around the appliqué pieces. Instructor: Marlin $30

Technique/ Mitered Borders Workshop

Enhance your quilt tops with exquisite mitered borders; learn all of the secrets to a perfect miter in this “hands on” workshop. Instructor: Marlin Williams $30

Technique/ Piping

Learn how piping can add that extra zing to your quilt. This is a technique workshop utilizing cording wrapped in fabric and adding to your sashing and borders. Instructor: Marlin $30

Technique/ Reverse Appliqué Workshop

The best reverse appliqué techniques will be at your finger tips in this “hands on” workshop. Instructor: Marlin $30

Technique/ Rotary Cutting

Learn efficient rotary cutting skills, learn how to use Shape Cut Plus cutting guide, and receive a plan to organize your fabric scraps. Instructor: Marjorie $30

Technique/ Trapunto Workshop

You have marveled at the beauty of this technique, now you can master it in this “hands on” workshop. Instructor: Marlin $30

Technique/ Zippers

We will focus on working with zippers and their different applications for you projects. Instructor: Marjorie $30

Three Bean Salad

This quilt is great for any level quilter. You will be learning about squaring up your blocks, setting blocks on point and utilizing setting squares. No need to fear this quilt construction is guaranteed fun. Instructor: Marlin. $45.

Turning Twenty Quilt

Perfect pattern if you are just beginning and a dream if you an experienced quilt maker – only 20 fat quarters. Instructor: Judy $40, 2 classes.
